Capt. Rahul Sharma is a former Group CHRO and CEO with 32 years of corporate HR leadership across BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, IT, services, hospitality, and the diamond and luxury sector.
He founded RH Factor Consulting Group in 2014 after a career that spanned the Indian Army, nine years at ITC Hotels, and senior HR roles across financial services, technology, and manufacturing.
He is a qualified Psychometrician and Organisational Psychologist. He has led two M&A integrations, served as CEO of a Welspun Group subsidiary, and advised founders, CEOs, and boards on succession, leadership architecture, and people transformation.
The practice is built on one principle: the organisation should be structurally stronger when an engagement ends than when it began.
Commissioned into the Armoured Corps of the Indian Army in 1988 after clearing the Combined Defence Services examination and the Services Selection Board. Served as troop and squadron officer, Technical Adjutant, and officiating Squadron Commander. The Army years remain the foundation of how he reads teams, builds discipline, and leads under pressure.
After leaving the Army, he spent close to nine years at ITC Hotels Limited, one of India's most respected hospitality groups, heading HR, Training, and Security for flagship properties. The defining work of this period was negotiating two Long Term Agreements with two distinct union setups, in one of the most demanding industrial relations environments in Indian hospitality.
From hospitality, the career moved through MNC services at Sodexo India as Country Head HRT, technology at Oracle Financial Services Software as GM Employee Engagement, and financial services at IIFL and DHFL at Group Head level, spanning high-growth environments, crisis management, and M&A integration.
As CHRO at H Dipak and Co, a vertically integrated diamond and jewellery group spanning traditional trading and Imaginarium, India's largest 3D prototyping venture, he built people functions that served two entirely different cultures under one ownership.
From 2018 to 2019, he served as CEO of Welassure, a Welspun Group subsidiary, with concurrent Plant Head HR responsibility for the Group's Anjar operations. The only role in the career that sat fully at the intersection of business leadership and HR.
In 2014, he founded RH Factor Consulting Group. Eleven years on, the practice works with a small number of founders, CEOs, and boards at a time, across retained, context-specific engagements.
